What is the worst thing that can ever happen to you?
Well lets discount "being in an accident", "being eaten by a norweign ridgeback", pretty much anything that causes mortal damange.
As I attempted to ansswer this question, a number of answers made its way through my mind but the one thing that stood out was "Thinking you are not worth it". Whatever the "it" could be. It is an inevitable thought that most of us go through in our life. It happens at sometime or the other, when you did not make it through your most ambitious and favorite school, when you did not get that one job you were working so hard for, when you cannot hold on to that one person you want to be with for the rest of your lives.
There are always going to be hurdles , moments that make you feel insecure, that make you feel that you dont deserve the best,or whatever it is that you desire. The only way to get over these times is to think beyond the issue that we are so focussed about. Think and play scenarios in your mind. "Ok this did not happen. How will life be after that?" Find an answer to that. It isnt easy I tell you, but it helps. Once you are willing to open up to a life without whatever it is that you are worrying about, you wont worry so much about it. After all , arent we all supposed to be happy. Isnt happiness the one thing that we all strive towards. And if its the one thing that all of us need, isnt it somewhat obvious that it is not going to magically appear in our laps.
While it is important to think of a life after our most important desire, it is also paramount to not give up trying until its over. Cause it aint over until it is over. The one line that comes to my mind when my mind wanders off to dangerous paths and scares me is
மனதில் உறுதி வேண்டும்
There is not a scenario where Bharathiyar does not have some to say for. So that is it.Here is to hoping to somehow getting over the biggest hurdle and hunting that flighty temptress called Happiness. ( yes yes i am a HP crazy fan)
